Product Story
A celebrated Abstract Expressionist, Mark Rothko was best known as an iconic pioneer of colour field painting. This particular movement was characterised by simplified compositions formed from geometric shapes in unbroken colour. Mark Rothko devised a unique method to create luminosity in his work by applying thin washes of oil paint. Infatuated with colour, he cleverly composed each painting to evoke a variety of emotions in the onlooker, with Untitled using blue, yellow, green and red tones to create a striking impression. This print is produced to exacting museum conservation standards, using inks and printed on high quality paper to create a perfect reproduction.
